NOTEPAD USERS: here's a cool open-source programming editor...

    http://www.pnotepad.org/

    Pretty cool...

blows notepad away & has a lot of the coolest features of the best commerical editors (like UltraEdit) and seems to be pretty fast for managing large files.

    Can't be the price

Downloading right now Notepad should have a feautre that counts lines at least. So you know when you are debugging at wich line you are

The only think I don't like about Edit Pad Pro vs PnotePad is the "Buy Now" button

Can you post a screenshot of Jedit? their SS's are broken:

Warning: Failed opening 'screenshots.text' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/groups/j/je/jedit/htdocs/index.php on line 228

I think they might have been broken back when I came across Pnotepad too because I was looking at a bunch of freeware and open source programming editors.

A lot of people use Ultra Edit - is this open source one better?

                    It's cheaper.

And a lot of Ultraedit's features (over pnotepad) may only benefit hardcore programmers.

I mostly use a tabbed notepad for "scratch paper"... like right now I have 17 tabbed editor hahahahahahas open.
