    PS6 Help?

    I use photoshop6 & fireworks4

What I want is to take an image & remove the background..

can anyone tell me how to cut out part of an image?

Or, remove an images background & make the background transparent.. I want to take the image & cut it out & paste it onto another image?

Pen tool. Use it to trace the outline, turn it into a selection, invert it, delete key twice, feather radius 2 pixels.

    Quick and dirty way.

The lasso tool is probably the fastest, cleanest way to cut out images. Dupe a new layer to work in, turn off the view on your original layer, pump your magnification up to 500-600 percent, feather to 0 and cut away. Cut too much? That's where the history brush helps.

Here's a tutorial on using the Extract feature in PS. It gives brilliant results.
