Well.. on my own online mail accounts i have to get out there 2-3 times a week just to dellete spam and virus mails.. and thats just too keep them open for reciving 'real' mail..
and then... why not a 1gig inbox.. it's free, so if you had to choose between a 3-5 mb inbox and a 1 gig inbox...
1 gig email space... you have that much so you don't ever have to del any important mails. You get a free built in search engine to search your mail by keywords just like the reg ones.
It probably will NOT stay free however. I saw a guy on a show the other day from google and he made mention of a 'small' charge down the road most probably. Makes sense... they'll literally need millions of hard drives in a very short time... plus the gear to run them.

a) they've probably got tons of free HD space with all the 1000s of computers they have networked together running the SE.
b) Only a very small % of users will actually USE anything like 1Gb.
c) They're running context-based (adsense-type) ads in the emails. Which probably means it will be a bad idea to email your grandmother about her "breast operation"
