If rubbing alcohol doesn't kill them, a sure fire method is to put a dab of nail polish on each of their 'bumps'. Let it dry and get dressed.

It suffocates them pretty quick and your natural b o d y oils make the polish come loose fairly quickly. (within hours)

That was a right of passage when we were growing up... but then we weren't the sissies that kids are today.

I went hiking through the woods and went through some sort of chigger hot spot or some shit. Got completed covered in them (even on my face) I had to goto the doctor for it.
But anyway, to get rid of the chiggers all you really need to do is take a shower / bath. They will bite you 5-10 min after they are on you so there's not much of a way to stop it. They don't actualy go under the skin like most people think. The bump is from your hahahaha reacting to their saliva.
