    Pow:

This topic does not have anything to do with the adult entertainment business, but it is something that has been bugging me.

I usually do my computer work at night. A few nights ago I was watching Fox news. A caller called in and ask the question; Where is the outrage from the Europeans about how the enemy fighters treat their prisoners of war. This was in reference to the Navy SEAL that apparently was executed by the enemy fighters. Fox news has made this their mantra for the past days.

While I feel for any fallen brother in arms (I am retired now). It bugs me when the media reports about military matters when, as one retired military person that is a media consultant put it "You don't know a tank from a turd".

#1 The Navy SEAL was not taken prisoner. He apparently was shot.

#2. The facts about our own military taking prisoners is as follows.

    A. Small, mission oriented units, do not ever take prisoners (unless the mission itself is to take prisoners).

    B. Even larger units do not take prisoners (unless ordered to do so or it is convient for them to do so).

    C. Even if ordered to take prisoners many troops will find ways to disobey the order for many different reasons.

No upper echelon active duty officer will ever appear on the media and state the facts about the taking of prisoners, but the above are the facts.

      Your point is recognized.

I for one think that civilians (includes the media) should be (as much as possible without having walked in the boots) aware of what land warfare is really about. Maybe awarness would slow them from sending our troops into harms way in some of the places they have in the past.

The media really frosts my ass for reporting about shit they know nothing about.

In the beginning they kept referring to Special Forces, lumping the Army Special Forces, the Army Rangers, the Marines Force Recon, the Navy SEALS, and the Airforce CCT together, instead of using the proper designation. All of the above are Special Operation Forces.

When we lost the eight or nine personell a few days ago the Media reported there must of been a screw up in the planning. Since we have not lost any personell since then they are now using this as proof that there must have been a screw up in the planning.

The current campaign has been a marvelous succes up to this point and it is ridiculous for the media to even suggest that a loss of eight or nine personell, was a screw up.

I could go on and on about this subject but I won't.

The media is the media and right now the war is a competitive game to them.
They showed their ignorance when they set up on the beach during desert storm and when a seal team landed... "lights, camera, action".. Needless to say, the lieutenant in charge was thoroughly pissed.. as in, "It's people like you that get people killed".. but then someone had to have leaked the location.

We need more correspondents like Walter Kronkite who have been in the trenches and know the drill.
