I need help with Windows..Sad but true.

Objective: Combine two partitions into one big one.(C: & D

I tried using Partition Magic 8.0, and failed. It deleted my D: drive(which I'm now restoring)..and It failed during the process of moving files from second partition to first..Any help is apreciated!

format C:
format D:

than FDISK
delete all partitions
then make a new partition make sure to use all of the volumes size

DONE!

See, what I did not mention is that I'm going to merge both of my partitions, then resize and make a new one.. Then install Linux

I know how to format, if that were the case I would of done so a long time ago. I don't want to, but thanks for trying to help.
