FILTERING THROUGH: GEO-IP-script compared to browser language

I was wondering what kind of difference in accuracy some of you had by flitering certain countries through a GEO-IP script rather than using a simple script that filters through the users browser language? I don't want to be spammed by people asking me to buy their scripts LOL but just some experiences

I personally hate geo-tracking. As an english girl abroad I get really pissed off when I can't access a site in english cos it keeps forwarding me to friggin german!

        That's what I've always went with ---

If the user is using an browser in english, they probably want to see english.

Why anyone would force them to a page in a language other than what their browser is set at is beyond me.

Its not really about the language you wanna display...for that you detect the browser settings. Geo settings is for relevant information connected to the area your in. ( for example ads and dialers )

If only most used it for that instead of filtering us straight to dialers or offering content in our "assumed" language. For payment options/dialer area no problem. But why on earth filter straight off to dialer on first tour page? Half the sponsor sites I try to promote I'm sent off to dialer before I get a chance to see if it's anything I want to promote anyway.

There are also a lot of people that might surf from say the states, but have their browser set to their native language. Whether they'd be CC buyers is another matter though.
