I rather do it in person like at a convention, its a lot easier than typing back and forth. Or if its a two way relation where you tell me some of your strategies as well that have worked for you. Like Hoax and Brujah (to name a few) do this with me and I'm more than happy to return the favour to them since they share their tips with me as well. It's all about helping each other; its just the freeloading people that come up to me and ask how can i get SE traffic that bugs me (for free that is).

Excuse me for butting in on this thread but I don't think anyone likes to have their brain picked.
A generous guy like WiredGuy maybe only to happy to share some of his knowledge but nobody likes to be chewed over and spat out.

Still saying all that its no big secret how to place sites in search engines.
Just get good quality backlinks and have nice clean original text on your pages emphasing keywords you wish to chase.

Seriously, its not rocket science. It's tricky to figure out what works and what doesn't but swami just said what most SEO's do out there, establish a good link network and emphasize the keywords you want. There's a few tricks here and there but the above makes up the big chunk of the game.
