Just use windows movie maker, and do a .wmv file... If thats not compressed as much use tmpgenc to create an mpg but run it at a lower bitrate until you find the quality you like.

            1) Windows Media .wmv Quality based on output settings

            2) Depends on the quality output settings...... estimate a gig or more.

the last movie i encoded was 2 hrs 20 min at a bitrate of 1150kb/sec - file size 1.4 gigs...

I could take it down to 900kb/sec and drop the frame rate and not lose much quality for im guessing around 800megs.

the size i was saying (2 gigs avg for 18-20 mins) is in raw fullscreen avi format, which you want to use to edit it before you compress it down..

1 hr to raw avi = 13 gigs.

i'd go to .wmv at around 600kps
