    hitbot cheater question

    Someone's hitbotting my site.
I'm not so stupid that I couldn't find out the IP's, but when I do, is it any good actually?

Can I prevent that/those IP's accessing my site?

Someone wanna help me out here?

Btw, this is the stupid kind of cheating. It does the hitbotter no good, but it hurts my productivity.

    Hi Mika,

There are several ways to block IP's from your server. It depends
on what type of hosting you have, the access you have, etc, etc.

It sounds like you got hit by a not too smart hitbotter which is good that makes it a bit easier. Drop me a mail at [email protected] and give me some info about your host.

Things like do you have access to your apache config, do you have ssh access, is it shared hosting, can you use .htaccess
files, is it win or unix does it support perl or php?

I'll help you out one way or another :D

Tis true... after having lunch with kman yesterday and discussing the idea, myself and another party have come up with a very novel idea to prevent click fraud. The software is fairly easy to write - we're just trying to figure out how to implement it for TGPers. We're leaning more towards a service as opposed to a script.
