Simple password script needed

I have a personal site were I would like to put up some pictures. I only want my friends to be able to see them so could you recomend a good, simple password script?

Use .htaccess it is so fast, you have to do something like:

AuthType webiso

<Limit POST GET>
require user user@password
</Limit>

Are you on a UNIX based server? If not, those CGI scripts wont work.
