do we play by the same rules?

I am at a dilema right now so I am seeking comments from the board.

Does the adult industry play by the same set of rules when it comes to SEO as mainstream sites? For example most mainstream sites only optimize for their products and not an entire niche, while people in the adult industry attempt to optimize sites for an entire niche or sub niche with multi-products...teens, blond teens, brunete teens, red head teens, etc etc.

Is what considering spamming for mainstream sites considering spamming for us as well? I have a concept that I would like to try but whenever I go to a SE message board and ask about the ethics of my concept, the majority of the responses I get are that what I would be trying is borderline spamming (no one has ever said its spamming). Where is the line drawn for us?

who gives a fuck what people think? are these people paying your bills? belive you me, if you do somthin that google dont like, they will make you aware of it. so, give your idea a shot and see how it does. if it makes anything at all, then you have made 100% of money you wernt going to make. that to me is sheer profit. go for it, or tell me about it and watch me do it.
want to buy this spot for cheap? it is of course for sale. long term deals are always the best bet. brand0n/ at/ a o l dot commies.

If you are afraid of being banned forever... try it with an entirely new domain hosted somewhere else. If it flies you win, and if it flops you only lose a little.

Let us know how it goes.

I think the big difference lies in the fact that most adult SEO's are simply working the affiliate angle and don't have products or services they directly sell. Because of this, we can market vertically into different niches as opposed to a pre-defined set of products in mainstream.

To answer your question, I don't see this as being unethical or even border line spam, we're marketing sites to cater to our surfers similiarly as a mainstream SEO would for their product base.

            I agree with WG 100%

Search Engine software has no concept of adult vs. mainstream...my point here is, so long as you're following rules that are going to get you indexed, etc... that should be all that matters... that's not spam.

Another thing about mainstream: The adult industry is atleast 1-2 Internet years ahead of them...

If you have a new idea in marketing adult via SE, go for it !
