Ok we all say that TGP traffic are feeloading surfers right? and we all complaining about bad ratio of 1:2000, i doen't make sense to me, if they are feeloaders then they know what is a sponser and whats not then why did they click on the sponser links?

Dont tell me that 2000 visitor click on the sponser cause they r intrested and not signup.

everyone kept talking about make your gallery looks nice and you'll get signup, i dont think thats true, i know people make shitty gallery and get tons of signup, its all about the sponsers, if they shave you wont convert with them no matter how great your gallery is, if they dont shave, a shitty gallery can convert 1:50

So dont say you make amazing gallery, say you found a sponser that dont shave.

Don't you also mean find a sponsor that knows how to convert your hard formed click. Its the difference between a site like AP or one which presents little more than a graphic artists desire to express himself.

I can only speak from experience... Its not a question of shaving, its a question of how good the sponsor's tour page converts. For example: The old layout for ARS' Teen Dreamer wasn't converting for me, then ARS changed the layout, now it converts really NICE!

There are a few programs out there that lets you experiment re what tour to send traffic to to find what converts best for you. The easiest example of these is TopBucks.

i know what you mean, i forgot to say that in the first post but somtimes thats not true, i promote justoons for ars, let me tell you that is one of the most shittiest looking toon site but the shit convert and everyone is using it and it can still convert.

am not saying all sponser shaves, am saying sponsers that convert 1:3000 shave, i mean if the guy have a paysite, that must mean he has to have some traffic of his own correct? he must test out the layout to see it convert so there for most paysite tour can convert better then 1:400, it could be not that their shaving, they just got a few more creditcard proccessing that you wont get sales for...

and they convert & I end up 1:44 overall (with 8- 10 galleries)
My problem with such galleries is TRAFFIC.. (TGPS won't list these??)
I'm lucky to get 300-500 hits on a good day.. & under 10 click thrus..
I have quite a few that get far less, but it sells at least 1 sale a week???


On the other hand, I've been told, they suck.. Make my galleries nicer, so I did..

She's right you know ... I pre-qualify my traffic for DormAngels from my tgps and get a 1:30 to 1:70 conversion ratio. And she's also right about the non-buying bandwidth leaching motherfuckers. what good do they do you other than cost your ass?

As usual, Kimmykim posted some serious wisdom. This is all part of QUALIFYING the traffic and what she said is right, you get less click throughs but those click throughs have a higher chance of buying than if you just blind linked them to your sponsor.

I have recently done this on my pay site, in not only the advertising and promotion but in the tour design itself. I even have placed the credit card logos in the header graphic.

My early results have show that my page views have plumteted meaning that surfers are coming into the site, realizing they are getting little if anything for free and closing the tour. So I have managed to get rid of the freeloaders this way. The good news is that my join page conversions (hits to the join page / sales) has improved considerably over my old tour format.

Basically I am concluding that the people that are going thru the tour are more serious potential buyers rather than guys looking for any free shit they can shoot their loads to.

Want to really shake up the surfers. Try putting this on the warning page. "WARNING: You are entering a pay site. There is nothing here for free. If you do not have a credit card or have no intention of spending any money then please exit now!"

Why are people so stuck on conversion ratios? Would you rather have a conversion ration of 1:30 on 200 clicks or 1:500 on 10,000 clicks? Unless you're paying an arm and a leg for bandwidth, I hope you chose 1:500. Prequalifying traffic is a tricky business to do well. If you hit them up with $$$ too early you will scare away some potential joiners. If you don't qualify them at all you're burning unnecessary bandwidth. Look for what makes you the most money at the end of the day, not what gives you the best conversion.

Personally I don't think you can ever hit them with the money idea too soon.

Someone walks into a furniture store, a tire store, a fast food restaurant, the Bunny Ranch in Nevada.

They know there's money involved. They wouldn't be there if they didn't want what was for sale.

Sure on large purchases maybe people come into a store more than once before they buy, and maybe they shop around a bit. Big deal. They still know money is going to change hands for the goods.

A 4.95 trial is NOT a big purchase, nor is a 29.95 membership. Those are purely impulse items. You want the surfer to buy, you tell him what you have, tell him why he should want it, why he really should have it, and boom, you either touch the impulse or you don't.

As for the 1/20 on 300 hits, or the 1/500 on 10k hits, well those aren't representative ratios. It's entirely possible to have 1/20 on 10k hits if you market it right.

I know I'm one of the first to bitch long and loud about tgp traffic, but I saw some stats recently of a guy doing less than 1/200 on Hun traffic. He's not getting tons of click thrus but he's netting a VERY nice check every week from the sponsor. I took a look at his galleries and guess what? He's got the price all over the place. He's also got some well written text links too.

Throwing up some pics and a banner with a ref code link just doesn't cut it, no matter what kind of traffic you have.
