    Affiliate Program Banner Standards

While most adult affiliate programs offer a wide variety of promotional material and sizes, most don't provide from a common list of banners sizes. It would be nice to gather an agreed list of formats especially if you are going to have sponsor a program. I hate it when webmasters desire affiliates but then don't provide the tools to make money.

All of us can agree on the classic 468x60. What else makes sense?

    Horizontal:

    468x60
    468x80
    468x100
    240x120
    240x60
    120x60
    750x100 (C|Net made this famous)

    Vertical:

    120x240
    200x300
    80x400

    150x150
    200x200

    FPA: 600x400
    HPA: ?

    Let's discuss this!

I think a variety of banners in all sizes is the best way to go. I say do not limit it. Provide them with as much quality marketing material as is reasonably possible.

Quantity is a great thing but what if you have a standard format throughout your whole network and the new program you just signed up for doesn't have the size?

I would say design your templates/sites to use the banners that are the biggest in size. So, for instance you have a template that can take horizontal banners that are 750x100 (C|Net style banners). Once you have designed a template using this size it doesn't matter what size your affilate give you it will fit because it is either 750x100 or smaller and both will fit.

However I agree this is a short term thing. It would be a good thing to agree on a standard size(s) so it wold make life easier for everyone.
