Recomend good TGP script

First off: NO free scripts, we want a quality one.

Desired feautures:

* It must support one main page with thumbs and several archive pages split into different categories. The archives will be text links with descriptions.

* Hall of fame thumbs for main page and archives.

* Text under each thumb telling what category the gallery falls under and when "on mouse over" the description for that gallery.

* Automatic updates with preapproved galleries and automatic archiving in the corect category after a set number of days.

PLUS all the normal feautures such as automatic checking of the galleries for cheaters changing their galleries after approval (even when in the archive), good thumbnail creator, template based and so on...

The adultdevil tgpscript looks awesome, but it lacks some of the features we want, such as a hall of fame...

The other two scripts posted honestly seem to cheap to be as powerful as we want. Are good tgp scripts really this cheap?

Anna_O, Comus is really the best script out there.
I am using it for 5 sites now. Maybe it is cheap ... but that doesn't affect the quality of that script.

Varying ... sometimes the support is fast as hell, sometimes slow. Support is only given via their forum. If you'd like to have ICQ support you have to pay for it.

Both UCJ and TM3 work well with Comus Thumbs, I use both.

There is no way this is worth the development time and money. First off, I wouldn't write specs for a TGP script for less than $3k. The template engine of ap|tgp is powerful enough to do whatever you want. Who cares about custom. It isn't worth the cost. You can by a single license of ap|tgp for $55. $55!!! What is that like two sales? And you're going to dump 100 times that on something because one (or in your case none) of your desired features is missing? Can someone explain to me how this is cost-effective for anyone *but* the unlucky bastard who has to re-invent the wheel because he is starving and knows how to use mysql_query()? I am impartial to your purchasing decision - really, get comus or something. It is robust. I will leave it up to others to make any claims about ap|tgp.

Take your 3000+ development dollars and buy niche domains and premade tgp scripts to suite. And no...nobody will code anything as good as comus or madtgp for less than $15k. You have to accept that now.

One that handles what you want is www.jmbsoft.com AutoGallerySQL! It is about $85 and it is great, you can do the category, hall of fame, thumbs, anything you want!

They're both very good. I think UCJ would be easier to start working with, if you haven't used trade scripts before. It's a bit more expensive, but has a very easy to manage interface. TM3 has a few more bells and whistles, and is slightly less expensive, but it can take you a while to figure out all functions. Personally, I really couldn't say I prefer one over the other, I really love both of them.
