im now going to format AGAIN and im NEVER going to install XP again
im going to go back to win2k
butthere is one question i have;

is there a way i can safe all my outlook data?? just pasting the old dir into the new one did not work last time

If it's Outlook and NOT Outlook Express, yes... export to a .pst file (don't forget to include the subdirs), and import into your new install... if it's OE... you're fucked.

You're not fucked - you can simply drag and drop the emails out of Outlook Express into a folder of your choice. Just create seperate folders for each folder in Outlook, and after the format you drag em back in place.
