I know it's been talked about forever and i know alot of folks use paypal for adult transactions, not necessarily substriptions, but lets say to pay someone for traffic?

Thing is, now you can get your account closed with just having it under an adult email, while this may seem obvious, I know many people I have dealt with have adult xxx urls as their email for paypal.

I have never done this because I knew one day this would arise.

So heads up, if you have your paypal email as an adult email, you are increasing your chance of getting caught.

They just closed greenguys paypal simply for sending his partner some money, and his email was adult.

ive always used a non adult url as paypal email, I suggest you do the same. Youd think some would realize this, but aw I said, I have done business with alot of people and MANY have adult urls... change em.

i know, but I can alone can think of about 5 major players on this board that have their url as their paypal email. And theres plenty more.

and it would really suck to see some of these people not be able to use paypal.

I acutually got a call from paypal asking about my recent acount useage... and they were like... "you don't have any paypal links on your sites do you? and I was like no.. am I doing anything wrong... they wre like nope just checking to see if they were services to be renderd... and my pay pal is [email protected] so I dunno

About 5 months back paypal closed my acct simply because i had links to adult sites located on one of my sites that my paypal addy was associated with. They did this the day after I had transfered a decent sum of money into my acct and then threatened to keep the funds due to possible porn related activities. After a letter from my lawyer and a complaint filed with the BBB, I received a check from them for the full amount about a week later. After they tried to bend me over without a happymeal first, I read many other stories of similar situations, wish I had read them before I ever opened a acct.

Yah, I did the same thing when they started that. Changed and removed all 'porn' related email addresses from in there.

why are programs allowed to pay their affiliates using paypal?

Thats the way they do business. Usually, they lock an account when it has a good, healthy balance in it. Which is why I wouldn't touch PayPal with a 39 and 1/2 foot pole.

PayPal calls it business. I call it fraud.

But all this is well-known by now yet people still do business with them. As far as I can see it, anyone who knows this about PayPal but keeps using them is shit out of luck. Its like playing the stock market - its a gamble - you can win or you can lose.

This has been known for a while but this thread was a good reminder. Looks like a lot of people didn't realize this problem.

In the grand scheme of things paypal is like walking on fucking egg shells anyway. Im just waiting for them to lock my account for one reason or another (for accepting affiliate payments from adult companies etc.).

PayPal allows I believe 5 addresses to be assigned to an account. Just make another e-mail your primary.
