AP ratios?

Hi.
Just wanna ask guys if you are getting better
ratios with AP banner program or their text link program..
My ratio for banner program this month is shit, 1-2000 (last few months i was averaging about 1-700),but ratio for their Text links is 1-300 on same traffic.I dont know if CTC is acting again or what.
Just asking if it's just me.

A good text link almost always pulls better than a banner. Surfers see a banner and they think...ad. They see a text link and they think...cool, more free porn!

Yes text link pull better,but that
doesnt mean they convert better.

It could also be the position of the banner -- from my experience a banner w/ few choices presented to the surfer (ie: other links around the banner) will convert worse. Probably the more links you have the worse your banner will pull, but the better ratio you will have -- which is common sense I guess --

I'd be curious to know what people think about the strategy (for a free site) of sending as few people to the (partnership program) ad as possible (those being only the people that are most likely to sign up) -- in order to use the useless (non-paying surfers) to generate more traffic for output to your trades.

If you're on the click program you obviously want to send as much traffic as possible -- and usually most paysites use all that junk traffic by throwing in exit consoles, email collectors, along w/ ads for other paysites (in case the surfer wasn't interested) ever noticed how AP's partnership program site is different than the click program site? -- but when you're sending traffic to a partnership program I'm not so sure that volume is the answer -- is there some magic text that will only attract the "money clickers"?

Or is this not possible -- and the membership purchase is purely an impulse buy which happens as a result of the seduction on the AP site...

What happens when you take out the word "free" -- do ratios climb and clickthroughs drop? In that case I'd rather be on the parnership program w/ some carefully worded text -- sending back as much traffic as possible to my trading partners...

Ideally I'd try to seduce the surfers on my own site first -- in the past I've tried the "personal recommendation" thing which never worked for me -- maybe my problem is that I just don't like to seduce men -- my sites are usually pretty dry because I try to create sites that can be used as a resource.

I send them only amateur traffic,plus the banners stayed on same spot.As I said went down from 1-700 to 1-2000.I know CTC is not reliable with tracking sign ups,but still
seems weird

I have the same problem, my AP ratio this month is 1:1600 but last month it was 1:400
I have 3 friends, they all having the same traffic with me (TGP traffic, we all in this busines and have the same tgp and clicks) and their ratio is OK. So i think that it's CTC problem
I wrote to Mr James he told me that it's
"traffic does fluxuate some times"
but if it's only my traffic fluxuate?????? I don't think so. I think the only way to check it it's to buy sign-up, but when i try to do that i can't, maybe problem with my card, i don't know... The only problem now is Mr Lensman will pay me if i'll have 1:5000???

My December AP stats are as follows:

Text link program: 3,496 clicks, 5 tracks

November 1,274 clicks, no tracks

That's a 1:700 ratio

For the banner/click pic program: 233 clicks, 1 track...you can probably figure out the ratio...but in November...559 clicks and no tracks

In previous months the ratio varied a lot.

Sometimes I have 1:500, but somemonth I have 1:1200, The same TGP, and...
I prefer work baner click with AP,
for text link It seems join4free best then AP.

This situation looks like the november problems with ctc ratio but than it was with everybody but now only with several people.
I work with AP already 1,5 year and i didn't see such things before. I always had quite a normal ratio 1:400-1:700 but newer had 1:1500
especially since my friends with the same traffic have no problem with ratio

It could be any number of things -- your amount of search engine traffic -- or it could be that your trading partners lost some of their search engine traffic or they changed who THEY were trading with (or how much search engine traffic they have this month). Consider the changes you made to your site, how your trading partners have you linked, what ads are they using on their sites now? When your signups suddenly jump for a month -- for all you know, all those signups are coming from one particular site with good traffic.

Too bad we don't have a way to track those things. I remember there was an ad program that allowed you do send traffic w/ different codes (like A,B,C...) -- so if you were good at writing code, you could send all the surfers from site A to the ad w/ code A, site B to code B, etc. -- then you could track where all your signups were coming from and boost your trades w/ them accordingly.

My signups this month are much higher than last month. I wouldn't put anything past CTC though ;) but I think you have an isolated problem, especially considering the small amount of traffic that you are sending. It's fun to look at the stats of a huge site that gets 200,000+ their stats are so smooth and even -- the curvature is beautiful ;)

I don't use the banner program at this time, so I have no data to give.

From the looks of things, though, I've got an average of 1:433 going since the beginning of October and overall, the ratio has been better in recent months.

Now that I've disrupted life in the GFY World, I'm going to go and do what my current employer pays me to do.

I hate having to do that stuff, though. No T'n'A on the screen.

I repeat that my traffic doesn't change.
I and all my friends using the same traffic.
We use the same TGP's we having 400-600 clicks a day but their ratio don't change from last monthes. I can understand 30-40% changing of the ratio but if it changing mor then in three times and sign'ups simply disapears...

Try using some of the newer banners and pics. I always do better with the newer ads.

Rose, I looked at your account, last month you were 4:3503 and this month you are 1:1972. It's too little a smaple to spot any trend, after all, one more signup this month and your ratio would be the close to december's.

Have you tried the hotlink pics? They will increase the ratios, because the girls match our current main page girls.

Here is a bigger account's stats, this month is about the same as last month.

TheFLY, the best qualifier text I've heard of to help screen lookie-loos is 'you'll need a credit card' But expect clicks to drop through the floor.

But yewah, in general I think sending only the (potentially) more potent traffic to the signup based programs is the best way to go.
