              Darren,

if you have dsl or cable or whatever broadband in the uk.

Just go buy a router, like a 50.00 linksys, d-link, etc.

Use 1 network card in each system you want to share, plug dsl line or cable modem line from cable modem or dsl modem into the router, do a quick setup, plug ethernet cables from each machine / network card into the back of the router. you can get like a 4 port linksys, d-link, etc.

if you need more ports, buy a hub like a 8 port and plug that into your router.. Simple, easy 5 minute setup

Another way to do it would be...
Put a second network card in one PC. Connect that PC to your Internet connection with one of the cards. Plug the other card into a hub. Plug the rest of your PC's into the hub. Then one PC works as a server and you will have more security than you would with a router. If you disable file and print sharing on the internet network card and enable sharing on the card going to the hub, then you will have a private network between your PC's that is not easily accessible to the outside internet.
