    My new math instructor

I swear that the guy reminds me so much of Steve Lightspeed it's fuckin scary. Until now, I had never imagined Steve teaching Calculus.

I'm a webdesign major at the local university. Calculus, (for reasons that are quite unclear to all invloved), is a requirement, but since I'm such a mathematics 'tard, I have to take the prep courses first.

I'm about to drop this class and go to college algebra first, though. I'm soooooooo lost.

I'm going back to college, I haven't been in school for 7 years, and when I took the assessment test they told me I have to take Math 070 which is basic high school level math. I'm not even qualified to take College Algebra! I've been out of school for so long I don't remember how to do anything! I need to pick a major that's not math intensive, there's no way I will EVER pass Calculus.

I actually did that. Started in 0700 and had to go up through 0800, 0850, and now am finally into math that actually counts toward my GPA. But looking at this, I'm afraid that I'm so gonna fail this....

Over here we don't have matha 0700 or 0800, it just starts 010- and up. 070 is intermediate algebra which is the class right before College Algebra. I failed this stuff in high school, let's see if I can pass now.....

0700 is equivelent to Pre-Algebra, and 0800 Algebra 1 in high school, 0850 Algebra 2,

I can't tell you how thrilled I was when I started college back up over here and they said that the college level Algebra I took during my one year at universtiy in Boston before moving to the UK fullfilled my maths requirement for my majorsl. I swear I could have kissed the guy.

                              I'm jealous.

I just got bumped to a lower-level math class. My entrance quiz that I took yesterday shows me to be somewhere between Neanderthal and a highschool freshman.
