    tracking help

right now our web analysis tools will tells us such standard stuff as how many visits, landing page, exit page, etc. but we have no idea where are signups are coming from (revshare referral ID only marginally helps).

is there a simple method that would allow us to go backwards - such as for everyone who hits our member page, what was the referring site. that is, a user hits our preview page, clicks around, then clicks on the join button, then lands in the member's area.

we don't currently use cookies (counter does, but that doesn't help here), and I only have a basic understanding of how they work. If you recommend using cookies, could you please point us to where we can get the appropriate script? Any other constructive suggestions? Thanks!
