    I can't get text to go bigger that 18 pixels tall. WTF is up with that?

          Try right mouse clicking on the text tab on the top left when using the text tool and then click the reset tool option.

              Thanks guys, I figured it out a few seconds after posting this. The image I was editing was fucked. It's file information showed 1 pixel per square CM. Obviously it wasn't really that low but whoever touched up the photos fucked up somehow.
