Hi, would like to know what's the best software out at the moment to make "BACKUP" copies of my DVD movie collection. Thanks in advance.

Ive been using this http://www.dvdxcopy.com/ without any problems so far, only one dvd could not be burned because it was reading it properly...

Since DVDR's are only about 4.5gigs, what kind of quality loss is there when backing up a DVD? Obviously it depends on the source DVD size, but are we talking a downgrade to VHS quality in some cases?

I have one of these drives, but haven't used it to backup DVD's yet.

I know you can split them to multiple DVDR's, but they are not exactly as cheap as CDR's. So it's not like you are getting a DVD for 50 cents like you can do with music CD's.

The two most popular programs are DVDFab and DVDXCopy.

I still can't get over those scammers online selling software to "make perfect copies" of DVD's onto CDR's. LOL... You can't put a 10gig DVD onto a 700mb CDR and come anywhere close to DVD quality.

I burnt quite a few movies over the last couple of days and the only ones that arent so great are some of the older dvds, titles that have been out for a few years...they seem a lil choppy so Im gonna stay away from those from now on.

Blank DVD media holds 4.7GB as far as I know...
Also I just recently purchased 50 Blank DVD for like 80$ canadian or so.

they come out to 1.60 a disc about, considering they hold 4.7gb of data i think that its much more cost effective when you consider the storage capability...
it would take 7 blank ยข50 cd's to equal one blank dvd...so which one is really cheaper in the end?
