What should drinking age be?

In honor of the second biggest drinking day in the whole year, I would love to hear some opinions. What should the legal drinking age be and why?

I used think the drinking age should be the same as the age you get to join the armed services to kill people. Then I worked in bars. Now I think the the legal drinking age should be 35...:0}

21 is starting to seem to low anymore. Maybe it should follow the probationary drivers license age of 25 in most states. Lens, you just want the 18 yo's to be buzzed and vulnerable But it does seem to be the 21=25 aged people shooting each other in bars and driving drunk around here an AWFUL lot.

Military age has nothing to do with drinking. The younger aged guys stand a whole HECKUVA lot more chance of surviving a war than older guys. Quicker reflexes and all of that. (Most bases allowed drinking under 21 when the boys are in and fighting, so if they deserve a drink then they should be there fighting for the rights) That didn't come out right but you know what I mean.

Hmm, well I think it should stick to 21, mainly because I'm about to turn 21 and I would feel more comfortable actually buying beer/whiskey legally than just growing a beard out and buying it illegally, like I have been doing

I think it should be 18 because that's when one is considered a legal adult you can join the military ,vote , and go to prison .

I believe it should be treated as a privilege so if you fuck up your right to drink can be lost . Maybe add something to a id card like Alcohol prohibited

You should have a drinking license the same as a driving license.

My point was alcohol is legal therefore there IS a legal age to drink. Weed is not nearly as harmful as alcohol in every way, yet is illegal, therefore no legal age for anyone. Not even grown adults who don't particulary enjoy there government telling them what they may or may not ingest.

18. At this point (in Ontario, Canada at least) we are old enough to serve in the army (17), drive (16), and vote (18). Ontario seems to think that an extra year in necessary to be allowed to drink. Here I am, living away from home, old enough to lease a home, die if need be for my country, drive a car, and vote for the man that will lead our country for four years (or so), but I can't head down to the pub for a drink. I think there needs to be a bit of change here. 18 year olds are legally adults, but the legal drinking age of 19 makes them treated as infants still. That's just my two cents.

I think the drinking age and military service age should be the same, if you're mature enough to die for your country you should be able to drink in it. But then maybe alot of 18 year-olds sign up so they can get stationed somewhere where they're treated like an adult.

On the other hand I quit drinking when I turned 21, so it doesn't really matter does it?

I think that the drinking age should stay at 21. There's a LOT of younger people that just don't know how to handle it. They need to grow up a little first. ALSO BECAUSE I thought that the funnest parts of being under age was finding ways to get drunk. All of the sneaking around to get it was fun.

That's just like sex. Remember getting your first few pieces of ass ?? I'm sure that about 90% of you had to wait for your parents to leave you home alone or sneaking off to somehwere else. It always fun and more exciting sneaking around, not trying to get caught. JUST like drinking underage.

it's 19 in ontario for a few reasons.. one of the main reasons is cause we got OACs in highschool (grade 13) and the school board wanted to keep alcohol out of schools as too many people would go get hammered and go to class and shit... didn't stop us.. fucked, UofT Scarborough campus doesn't even serve during the day anymore.. we'd have to bring our own in pop bottles pre mixed... yeah, I basically got thrown out of that institution... I don't think there should be a limit to age.... alcohol is the elixer to life.. it's not an addiction, it's a lifestyle.
