I was surprised when I first read that.It doesn't seem as big to me as GFY by a long shot.There is bugger all happening there at the moment thats for sure.
Their forum is going downhill fast in my opinion.Brett is getting toooo precious about his WW.Far too much moderation going on and a lot of cliques happening backroom.
GFY has a lot of shit on it and noone seems to care about SEO discussion but the attitude is better here.I think.

I don't really like WebmasterWorld for one thing, their posting process. All posts are filtered through their mods first before being posts, and only about 20% of my posts are actually posted on the boards.

But, it's a good resource no doubt.

Good for them, but one reason they are high on Alexa is the same reason GFY gets high, more webmasters than average users have the Alexa toolbar installed.

The more webmasters that visit your site, the higher your Alexa ranking. When you are a webmaster site, you are going to be ranked higher than a non-webmaster site with the same or more traffic.

The supporters forum is $87 for 6 months.
But really there is not much going on there and they are moderating that at the moment as well.
then there is the moderators forum which only moderators have access to.Thats where the wheeling and dealing goes on with contacts and work coming in from companies looking for SEO's.

No one gives too much away on the forums as they all know GoogleGuy reads the posts so most info gets traded in sticky mail.

Google gives them a little extra benefit though. You can drop your ww username too and get some privilege when reporting abuse or emails, etc.

There's not much there without the Google presence though IMHO.

Gosh I cant believe they made such a big deal out of Alexa. Its well established that webmaster sites do well on Alexa because they form the highest proportion of users most likely to download their surfing software bar or whatever.
