The apartment community for not allowing pets.

Honestly, I can understand why they don't. But it isn't the pets' faults. Too many owners just don't know how to properly care for their animals and they end up getting serious damage. Of course sometimes you have problems with pets who DO have responsible owners, but the majority of damage is cause by pets who are not taken care of properly. (For example cats that urinate and defecate on the carpet because their owner neglected to change the litter box or puppies who chew up the furniture or doors because their owners didn't provide them with chew toys for teething purposes.)

But it's a shame that irresponsible pet owners ruin things for those who take care of their animals. It's partially because of those rules that don't allow pets that so many animals die in the humane society. People have to give their pets up because they can't find a place that allows them, and potential adoptors are unable to adopt because their own lease doesn't allow them.

We were hard pressed to find a place that would allow our cat. Took forever
