If you are going down there to hang with kids, get drunk, and party, I am sure a sleazy place would do. But I am going down there to make some $ and have a little fun.

I have stayed in many hotels in Cancun, even checked out of a couple that looked nice on the net, only to find out in person they were old and crappy. Ritz or JW Marriott in Cancun are both very nice properties.

after travelling around ecuador and staying in clean double rooms with bathroom for $4.50/night i don't see the point of paying hundreds for the same shit.
