which layout is better?

Which layout do you like better and why? (It's for an e-commerce site selling offensive tshirts).

1st - http://www.wackythings.com/tee.htm
2nd - http://www.wackythings.com/lamps.htm

The first will have a larger "banner" up top w/ color and images.
The second will be as is except with tshirts not lamps.

why dont you have 2 domains selling the same stuff with the 2 designs... see which converts better?

I will - actually I will have a bunch - but I want to focus on one in which I will use on all of my print advertising.

Here's a psychological question.

Does one layout make it seem like there are more items? i.e. to me at least, when I see the 1st layout, I can group the 12 images easier (maybe it's because it's mostly blackwhite)

I wonder if things like this affect people when visiting a site like this

The 1st does look alittle boring but will probably add alot more when the top is finished (more color, images, etc.)
