People who know how to make money are usually not the ones bitching about prices. Matrix Content is good, for example, but a lot of people have it, too. I sell to some of the most successful sites on the Web, as does Aaron, I'm sure, and I think we both can say that they are the last to complain about price. They weigh price against the content's effectiveness in snagging and retaining members.

AMEN. Most of my clients were suprized that my prices are as low as they are. I am not trying to compete with the Matrix's and Lace's of the world. I shoot a different style and people who like it will buy it.

I think many of his models are pretty damn hot especially Rose. I didn't see anything wrong with the lighting but the view set samples all seem to go 404.. I'm guessing you didn't want to link the whole set to big images to reduce theft. But they are all still clickable and go 404.

huh, I guess I missed the part where Mike asked for input on his pricing.

His prices are cheaper than mine and I fully support myself through my content company. You will not see my content flooded all over the web because I sell it for .13 cents an image either.

Some say we are greedy for having higher prices but then they turn around and tell me that I could sell more if I lower my prices. My clients like my work and they pay what I ask because they know it is better to have images that are somewhat exclusive.

Here is a new way of looking at this issue:
If Matrix content is so cheap and their stuff is all over the Internet.... Then perhaps my style, prices, and the fact that my stuff is hard to find, makes me more ELITE.

Anybody can afford Matrix but not everybody can afford Aaron Matthews Productions!

I kinda like the sound of that.

Yes, the cheaper the content, the more frequently your surfers-in will say, "I've seen that before," and then surf out. If you're not makin' enough dough, it may be that you're not paying enough for your content.

Also a sample license would be a good thing to have on the site so people know what they are buying and what they may or may not do with the content. Just being picky but that's usually one of the first things I look at when shopping content.

when they see amateur content cost 60-100$
for one set, they will close your site
or think 10X times to buy it

matrix grow big because of the price
is about right, i'm just suggesting

Perhaps the webmasters you mention would make more money if they had original content instead of pushing the same stuff that everybody else has? The clients that I shoot exclusive sets for pay a hell of a lot more than 60-100 bucks a set. Considering that most of them buy multiple sets from me each week, I would guess that they are making more than a grand a month.

Take some lessons from them.
