Why doesnt Jupiter allow IRC bots?

why dont some hosts allow IRC bots, and servers?

i dont really see any good reason for it... yea they are connected all the time. but a apache service can be running all the time.... irc bots dont take up much bandwidth either.

another argument could be the security. but a not very well comfigured apache (or any other service for that matter) could be exploited just as fast as any irc bot.

anyone recommend any hosts that will allow me to run irc bots?

Because when you put up an IRCD on any respectable chat network you will get DDOS. And if you use a bot to hold a channel (a well known channel) that'll probably get DDOS' d as well.

No one likes to have their network attacked ;0

as if irc is the only way to get something DDoS'd

if a network had decent admins... twarting off dos attacks really isnt a big deal.

Why, you truly are a moron aren't you?

Having an IRC bot on your network is a SUREFIRE way to get yourself DDoS'd. Sure, it can be stopped but that takes time and money.

There are so many 14 year olds on the fucking IRC networks that can throw 400Mbps at you within seconds.

          I wonder if you're even 18... ;)

bots are not a surefire way to get ddos'd, sure they are if your a jackass that goes around fucking with other channels. and talking shit to script kiddies. very similar to what you just did. and then you wonder why yours got ddos'd.

You almost had me fooled that you were of legal age, then you go ahead and threaten me with a DDoS which means you're about 14.

i didnt threaten anything, i simply said its pretty apparent why you have first hand experience with ddos attacks, and that is probably because you roll around tlaking shit to people you dont know.

i dont ddos. your right, its for kids. if i wanted to fuck you, id root your box and "rm -Rf /*" its much easier.
