They've been pretty good with only a few short downtimes since I've been with them. I'm sure they are aware of it and working on it, but I would just feel better KNOWING that they know about it.

Apparently it is a level 3 issue, they are aware of it and on top of getting it fixed. Spoke with them this morning.

Its not a techie media problem, its a Level3 problem that's being worked on as we speak.


And the 72 hours a few months ago was 1 virtual server, not the whole hosting operation. And if I'm not mistaken everyone who was on that server got that month of hosting for free.

I have been with them for a few years, and they are pretty solid IMHO, I just got off phone with them, and it is a Level 3 provider issue, that is being worked on (obviously). Nothing is a perfect world, so give them a break, it's not like they want to be down??...

These days there are plenty of multi-homed providers who offer very competitive rates - competitive enough to where if you are going to be single homed then you are looking for "cheap hosting", so providers who use single homed cogent, Gx or Verio bandwidth should clearly be the best choice for the money.

If you are talking about the 100mbit deal they have at $1000/month, note that it does not include anything else but the bandwidth, you still need to 'dig a pipe' to your office/datacenter. The $3000/month deal does not include the setup fee, hardware or rackspace.

I've never had a problem using them. I think this one is out of there control or they would have been back up and running by now.

Techie was always multi-homed.
They just got done moving all of thier servers to a new datacenter in NJ.
They're still working on contracts with other providers for backup. It sucks that level3 had a fuckup before a backup was in place but that's life.
