need server help, please

why does my server send .shtml files like they need to be downloaded? everytime i go to my site it pops up the download window

you have to config it to recognize .shtml or did you mess with your htaccess recently?

I dont have an htaccess for this domain, and it worked once, then it tried to download to me instead of sending as a webpage

It sounds like the serve settings need to be changed, maybe someone else can verify this

Probably need this in your http conf, or uncomment it if its already there.

AddHandler server-parsed .shtml

yeah thats there and I just put in an htaccess, and it still tried to send me a file

i dont fuckin get it, its been driving me nuts for 2 hours

I just put Options +Includes in the htaccess and it works... fucking weird that it didnt work before

Check with your host to see if they changed anything on their end... I had a buddy who had the same problem and his host had reinstalled Apache and didn't set it up right when they did.
