    Un-installing Windows Xp Pro

I've got problems with the current installation of Windows XP Pro.
So, I went to un-install it to do a NEW install, but there is no program called "Windows XP" to remove in the add/remove program...and the file "osuninstall.exe" in system32 of windows says it can't install because it can't find the registration information.

What the heck does a person do now to do a new install?

                1) copy info that you need from C(system partition) to other non-system partition (D or E)
                2) boot from cd-rom with winXP install disk
                3) when ask delete only partytion C and create it as new C
                4) format as NTFS
                5) install XP

but think twice before - you can lost your data

It is a virgin hard drive with just a few programs installed, so worst case scenario is that I would format it again.
But will check out the links listed also.
