I got a machine here and its keeps making a loud "CLICK" every few seconds... got no idea why. I turned it off cause I was afraid of it damaging itself.

Mine made that sound before it died. Sounds like your hard drive may have had a hard crash, which means the head has actually fallen out of alignment. No way to fix that yourself. If you have anything important on it, DO NOT turn it on and DO NOT open the drive. You'll kill the drive forever if you do. You'll need to find a trustworthy drive repair service that has a clean room and that doesn't have anything against adult stuff.

If it is like a clang clang noise it is prolly the hard drive. Hope you got shit backed up on that one. If not I would turn do it before it goes out, and if you can't get it all, sometimes Norton Ghost will still be able to copy everything over to a new drive.Comment

If you can poinpoint where it's coming from, you'll be better off knowing for sure. If it's your harddrive that's making the click, you could be a few days ( or months ) away from seeing the blue screen that says "Error Reading C:", such is what happened to me using TWO Maxtor harddrives in a row.
