The thing is, Dave Thomas was an all-round great guy from what I've seen and read of him and his life. Just good people, no matter how huge his business grew or how filthy rotten stinking rich he became he was always the same dude.

And like Slick, I too liked his commercials. My fav is the one about the spicey chicken ranch sandwich from a few years back, where he has a little devil-Dave on one shoulder and a little angel-Dave on the other shoulder trying to convince him to make the thing hotter or not so hot. The little angel says "don't heat things up too much!!" and the little Devil-Dave says "C'mon Dave, don't be a wimp! Put some pepperjack on it" and the little angel-Dave says "oh MY"

Muhahahaa. Dave ruled. This year I've made a resolution to eat MORE red meat, and there's a new Wendy's near me I'm gonna visit. Yaaaaaaaa... Wendy's triple, piggie-fries, chili and a giant coke, and 3 rolaids for desert.

WOW, this is sad. I read his Autobiography a long time ago. He helped Col. Sanders get Kentucky Fried Chicken started way back in the day. The name wendy came from his daughter Melinda, His other daughter couldnt say melinda, she called fer welinda, which then sparked and inspired the name Wendy's. Eventually, he had a daughter and named her Wendy. Sorry hehehe

Now the Ol' Ky Colonel was a cool dude.. Met him a few times. The mom worked at a restaurant that sold Ky Fried before the KFC stores came about. Not at all. I think most of us have come to the conclusion that there is no right answer to that issue, it's a matter of personal choice about one's own life and beliefs, nothing more. And, the only way I would consider boycotting Wendy's over this issue would be if I found hard evidence that good ol' Dave was helping to bomb abortion clinics. Short of that, he had a right to his beleifs same as you or I.

For the record, I'm both pro life AND pro choice. Is that possible? Yes, I think it is. I believe that the life is sacred and should be preserved if at all possible, but I also believe that if counselling a woman to go full term fails, then she should be allowed to have a safe procedure.

I believe that I have the right to choose what's best for me and mine, but why should I take it upon myself to go down the street and yell at my neighbor if he/she has a differing view? This is just another issue where people show their ignorance full-bore, so it's really best to avoid it, because it is an argument with no end in site. Both sides have valid points, and I think that the answer lies in the middle ground --- give the girls and couples some good solid councelling, but in the end they must be allowed to choose what's best for them and their lives. If there were no abortions allowed, then every sheister in the world would be offering illegal and unsafe procedures for a couple hundred bucks a pop. A lot of women and teens would die or be maimed for life needlessly, and those fetus's lives would STILL be lost.

Now, I'm off to Wendy's to get started on my upcoming miocardio infarction (heart attack).

Perhaps his prolife stance has something to do with him being adopted?

As, I said, my father is adopted and I know a good number of adopted people and most of them are prolife to some degree. None of them, however, would ever bomb a clinic or anything. In any movement its the extremists that get noticed.

I agree with CD, there is a first for everything <g>, I am a bit of both. For me personally, I couldn't have an abortion. However, I wouldn't stop another woman from having one.
