Free host speculation...?

Does anyone have any ideas/data about this... I was wondering, if you consider ALL revenue generated by the galleries on a free host (i.e. the revenue going to the hosting company + the revenue earned by the webmasters) would it be:-

A) MUCH less than webmasters could earn building those galleries themselves on their own "clean" host
B) Less than webmasters could earn building those galleries themselves on their own "clean" host
C) About the same
D) More, etc.
E) Much more, etc.

In other words, does the revenue from gallery sponsors + host sponsors <=> the revenue one could make from the SAME galleries if they were "clean"?

Its all about the $...if you have the $ to send it to your own host & take the first few months as a loss....your cool. If you don't then you use freehosts.

Either way you make $....its cool

But i'd say your own clean galleries are much better.

hahaha... very generic question...

Some people can make enough to host their own galls and some can't even make enough to pay a phone bill on free hosts... and some free hosts have it figured out and can make their money off a few smart sponsor links and some can't so they 404 like mad or just close the doors.

You see, my train of thought went something like this...

IF you know enough to make money off CLEAN galleries

AND

most TGP lists accept "relatively clean" galleries i.e. galleries with light headers

THEN

would you be better off pretending to be on a freehost i.e. putting a (slightly smaller than the *real* freehosts) header and footer on every gallery.

Would this make more, the same or less money than leaving the clean galleries unadorned with headers and footers?

Or is this just TOO devious?

Keep in mind that TGP's tend to accept more galleries from a paid host than a free host.

Reasons : better uptime, faster servers (in most of the cases), less banners, less 404's, ...
