    Question for Ebay users

What if you have people bidding on your item that have no feedback at all, i.e. it is their first time ever making a bid?

I assume you can't refuse their bid and award the item to someone else who bid on it previously for a lower amount?

Is there some way to set it up so you only accept bids from people with a certain amount of feedback?

Why would it matter? Just don't send them the item until you've received payment from them.
I post on GFY so that when people ask me what I do,
I can tell them that I work with the mentally retarded.

That's true, I just thought maybe they might be people trying to mess up my auction with phony bids, since I had it listed on a website of mine.

You could email them and confirm their intent to follow through with the bid, nothing wrong with asking for a telephone # either.

There aren't that many phony bids, unless you're auctioning off something stupid like trying to sell your virginity.

You can cancel bids from new or low-feedback ebayers if you really want to, but you should include your minimum feedback rule in your terms so ebay doesn't cry

Was just going to say this, you could have stated you will not sell to anyone with no feedback or less than 10 feedbacks.

So your obligated, but if they do not pay you, all bets are off and you can offer it to the second highest bidder and see if they will match the winners bid..if not, re-list the auction..

stick a nice big piece of text down the bottom saying "people who don't pay owe me a testicle, with 100% interest automatically issued."

                    that'll scare the kiddies away!

Thanks for the tips. I'll keep them in mind for future auctions. (especially the part about the testicles)
