    Good HTML CODE editor?

Anyone know of a good html CODE editor? I'm usually happy enough with a combo of DW and notepad but at the moment need to sort out a cart setup made from different template modules and a shit load of tables. The tables are fucking up and it'll take ages to pair them all up manually from the finished page to see where the problem is. I'm looking for an editor that will check the code and match all tags (hope that makes sense) so I can see which tag is in there that's not meant to be. It's almost certainly something daft causing in like an extra close tag but finding it is a bitch.

what about ultra edit? i think that would work.
but not 100% sure only used it a couple of times. use notepad normally. but i think ultra edit would be a good editor to use

Yes Homesite is very cool. Though TextPad is pretty cool as well.

Dreamweaver MX has Homesite built in. It doesn't get any better than that.

                Spend you some brain.

homesite is nice, but i prefer 1st page 2000. it's free, out there somewhere. i can probably get copies to people if they want to try it.

interface is very similar to homesite, so i'm not sure who copied who. but 1st page seems much lighter-weight, with all the features to get your code on.

highly recommended, hit me up if you're interested in it.

Thanks for the replies. Grabbed homesite and can't believe I never tried it before now. Why the hell Macromedia never included those features in DW (until now) beats the hell out of me. Greed I suppose.

Checking the code through I'm amazed that the page showed (and almost correctly) at all. IE may have it's bad points but you gotta at least half love anything that can make sense of the mess this was.

Fuck - I hate using 'templates' when they're made up from a dozen different modules. Thankfully almost working now though

If you guys like Ultra Edit try FTPedit, or jsEdit.
                            They blow ultra Edit away.
FTPedit is a little easier to use so I'd go with that. If you're just starting out.
definately two thumbs up for both programs.

I'll say it again: 1st Page 2000 kicks ass.

From beginner to hardcore, it rocks.
