    Linux compatibility (mac)

    does anyone know if a powerbook g4 800mhz will support mandrake or any other linux distro??

      I think Yellowdog is the most well-known and I there are probably a couple more.

      But if you have a PowerBook G4 that means that you're probably running OS X which is built on top of FreeBSD. For running GNU/open source programs, you should check out fink at http://fink.sourceforge.net/ . It's the equivalent of the apt-get, so it's really handy.

      You don't need to be running linux to run linux software (well, recompiled software at least). I'm not sure if the kernel supports linux binary emulation.
