The problem is, we had "wierd apache problem" (yes, that's the technical term), which lags the server to hell, but were able to fix it.

Now, apache just stops whenever it likes. Just quits.

you dont really need a high level red hat tech, just somebody who is familiar with apache. i've had this problem many times and man is it frustrating. it could just be a combination of shared modules that you are using. like i had huge problems with apache1.3.x with mod_so and mod_perl and mod_php. takes a while to get just right and i dont think its ever a science.

yea mod_perl tends to be a real pain in the ass combined with other modules sometimes..
