    Cannot find server - virus?

    Hi people,

Please excuse my typing, im half asleep....

I think I may have a virus but im not sure - ive tried everything that Google has to offer.

Basically when I access sites, usually the ones I visit most; www.cj-design.com, www.gofuckyourself.com, www.hotscripts.com etc.. I sometimes get "Cannot find server" errors but then 3 minutes later they work.

The thing is www.cj-design.com seems to do it the most (and thats my own site) - yet when I ask my friends on ICQ if my site is down they say "no" and my logs say 99-100% uptime.

The things ive tried to sort it out include changing the Lan Settings (I'm on NTL Broadband UK and connected to the modem using a network card) but that didnt work, I tried deleting my cache and clearing everything that my browser leaves behind but still it doesnt work.

I have even thought that it could be NTL (the ISP) but my other computer displays the sites fine 100% of the time.

Its starting to annoy me as you can see, dont suppose you can help?

It's a bug in IE, it's been there since 5.5, don't expect it to go away anytime soon.

I think you have the same virus or whatever I had a few days ago.

I wiped the hard drive and reinstalled everything (pain in the ass)

then I got some pretty good anti virus software from download.com, seems to be working ok now. my old virus software wasn't doing shit.

suggest you try new virus software for a start.

sounds like the same shit I had, slow responce etc.

yeah, slow response is also there.

I have scanned with "Norton Anti Virus" and "AVG Anti Virus" and ran "Ad-Aware" just in case.

If I format my hard drive and start again I will have alot of work and programs to back-up and re-install which I dont want to do just yet as Im about to start University year 2....
