anyone know how to screen capture quicktime videos I need to do it to thumbnail my vids but I get a black screen when I try.

http://www.videocharge.com might have the solution for you. It slices and dices .avi and .mpeg among others. Also pumps out the screencaps in whatever dimensions you chose. Works well for me. -

Take the screencap as usual. Save it. All you'll get is the player, the movie image will be black or fucked up. Then, start up the movie again and grab a frame (edit-->copy, then in PS file-->new). Drag the frame into the player image you saved and that's it.
Keep the picture of the player handy so then later on you can just pop the pics in. Takes 2 seconds.Comment
