Started drinking again....problem.

I used to drink a lot.

Back when I used to drink regularly, strangely enough, I got the most work done & made the most money.

Recently I started working on a new project for adult that I'm really excited about...(everyone will hear about it eventually - and love it - like it or not)

But in the middle of developing this thing I somehow started drinking again. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

If I have to start a thread about it, I suppose I must think its a bad thing. But then again, I've been able to focus on one project for about 6-8 weeks straight revisting my old ritual.

Those who have a problem with lots of ideas and many simlultaneous projects know what an accomplishment this can be

But right now, the only thing that bothers me is I've drank almost a whole bottle of this $20 merlot and I barely have a buzz.

The problem is, when I'm in harcore project-development-mode, I have a harder time sleeping than usual because I've got like 432 different ideas and concepts swimming around my head when I lay down.

By the time I get to the end of the bottle I want to be ready for bed.

That's a pretty low and fucked up comment to make. Addiction doesn't have anything to do with having a weak character, but it may describe why you feel the need to cap on people's issues. Why don't you take your head out of your ass and go fuck yourself.

But nah, that doesn't apply to me. I'm about 30 now. I know who I am & what I'm about.

I am extremely loyal to people I consider friends. And respectful to most unknowns by default. But like many people around here, if you deliberatley fuck me over... that'll be that.

Yeah I'm cool. I've been to what I strongly believe is the bottom before & I'll never hit that point again. Knowing where the bottom is & what it's like sort of keeps me in check.

But I can't help to think that maybe on some level I need to be sedated to stay focused and get work done.

People who know me well will attest that I'm all over the board with kick ass money making ideas, but bringing them to life is another beast entirely.

See.. I already created it and developed it in my head... so actually spending the time & hard work to bring it to life - well that just seems like a waste of my time under normal cirumstances (because I would rather be comtemplating new ideas).

Anyway, I'm focused. I'm happy. New product soon - make ya'll drool

Anyway... some of the most brilliant, creative minds in history were alcoholics, druggies, etc. Take it all in perspective. If it begins to affect your creativity, productivity, or health in a negative way, then it's definitely time to seek out some help (if it's not too late).

Otherwise, just keep your head about it and you'll be fine.

I think if it is bothering you, (And it IS, if you posted on a message board), you should evaluate if it's getting in the way of your life.

When I was drinking, I never felt I was a "heavy" drinker. But, I have never had booze help me or NOT get in the way (In some form or another). I did have trouble sleeping, just like you described. It really started to dominate my life and relationships, and my work (This doesn't seem to be the case for you ). What I found that helped was getting off the sauce, eating healthy and a few hours in the gym/day. I now sleep well and feel a lot better about myself. It's hard for a long time, but I really feel it has paid off in my case.

Everyone has their demons, I don't care who you are. For someone to say that a person is weak of character because they are dependant on something (Above) is foolish.

Edit : I see the "weak" thing was a joke, my mistake

I drink and smoke my ass off a few night a week when I'm going out with friends... the rest of the time (= when I work) I don't do any of them... I only drink coffee, orange juice, milk etc... pretty healthy... It's hard to take the time to eat though... it's 18:38 here, I'm up since 14:00 and I haven't eaten a thing When I woke up I wanted to check my business online and well, I'm still busy 'checking my business' ... damn, I need a butler
