    Testing Flash Preloader

    Alright guys,

Ive done a simple flash morph for a website im trying to get finished but I cant seem to test the preloader as its already on my PC and wont preload.

Ive tried to clear my cache a million times and do all sorts but it still wont let me.

My mates on MSN say it DOES preload but im not so sure so I was wondering if someone could tell me how I could get it to view the preloader and also if you can see it working.

    The page is:

          Thanks,

Its an aluminium dross lump being morphed into 'ready to sell' aluminium ingots.

It does preload, but dude, let me be the first to say.. lose the animation. It's over 700kb and the end result isn't worth the wait, or the bandwidth. You can't even see what the image is to begin with because the morph starts so quickly. The effect isn't very good. I'd recommend sticking with a static image.

              26 + 6 = 1

I thought this but the client really wants it, I might make the morph in less frames and bigger hopefully it will size it down better.

for those that are interested (about 1 of you, including me ) I decided to scrap the "morph" idea and just do a simple fade out, fade in.

                            The result is 28KB's!

                            http://www.cj-design.com/jbmi/?page=products

                            should I add a preloader?

I wouldn't worry about a preloader. That works fine. One thing i'd suggest though, is to have it on a loop. Show the finished product for a few seconds, and then take it back to the unrefined product, and do the morph again, etc.

But yeah, 28kb's is verrrrrrrrrrry nice. Well done.

                                Hi, cj-design..

Actually you can simulate the preload on your PC in Flash itself..
With your movie open press crtl+enter and it'll play your movie, if you press ctlr+enter one more time it'll play it with simulating a bandwith, then you can see you loader in action.

There is 14.4k, 28.8k & 56k presest and also you can define your own required speeds for simulating that speeds too.

                                Just a note..
