Yep, done it once with my SB3100, get my line closed for a week, then promised not to do it again, I'm a good guy since then..

But I'm still remembering that beatiful 10Mbit days..

LOL me too, same modem...uncapped it for a couple of days, then got a warning letter from provider threatening cut off.

i didn't get a warning from my ISP, but after resyncing my cable modem to the correct cap, they decided to re-route my traffic to circuit in a city that's about 15 miles from my home. thus making my ping time slower.. argh!

Have you tried a little vaseline? Really get that thing lubricated, the packets will slide right through, at much higher speeds, without the friction.

I'm stuck with a cable modem till the dsl gets put into my new place.

What I'd like to know is a way to "tweak" the upload speed.

most can't be uncapped since it's not a cap on the actual modem. more like a cap in the access nodes routers
