If you must have the context sensitive aid then homesite is a great choice. If you just want a great editor ultraedit rocks..
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

                    What like a preview????

Ultraedit can do that, on the top toolbar is a globe with a folder its "Show file in default browser" im sure you could map it to a hot key

Can anything really compare to Dreamweaver MX yet?? I tried adobegolive 6 and my god what a goddamn load of bullshit that thing is. At least with dreamweaver you know where you are and has a nice search and replace engine built right in, I use it everyday.

Apart from going to HTML code direct is anything even close to dreamweaver for comparable user friendly use?

                        Driven..

Dreamweaver is great but it is bloated, also its automatic code optimization is a bugger. Sometimes its easier just to fire up UltraEdit plus you can do regular expressions in UltraEdit for find and replace where you cant do that in DW...

That being said I'm totaly looking forward to MX2004 and I do like dreamweaver but sometimes its easier just to fire up UltraEdit..

Which is quite a deep program with FTP access and a whole slew of other features I did not know about till recently.

1st page 2000. a lot like homesite in appearance. i _think_ it came before homesite. not sure who copied who tho.

1st page is a lot lighter, and has a lot of cool shit built into it.

you should check it out. i recently switched from adobe golive to dreamweaver. still use 1st page sometimes tho, it's a very nice program.

that's what i used until i switched to xp.

it worked fine on windows 2000, but not on xp.

i hated everything else i tried until i found tsw webcoder. it's a lot like 1st page 2000, maybe even better.
