Plasma Screen

Anybody has a Plasma Screen as computer monitor? Compared to a 19" LCD it's "only" 4 times more expensive. It would be a nice view don't you think so?

some movement on plasma is a little funny.. also the res close up is shite.. it's more like a tv screen than a monitor for the work you're used to (face pressed against the screen) it'd be ok if you had a 60" about a metre and a half away...

Yes I agree with bhuto: I wouldn't use it as a monitor.
Resolution is less then from a normal monitor.

I don't like LCD either but I rather have an LCD then a plasma screen.

return to castle wolfenstein would be pretty killer though lol ..

you may have seen a model using one in a phamphlet... but it's not really that viable.. even for editing really visual things your toolbars would look apalling..
i've noticed horizontal movements issues on some brands too.. what i'd do for a 60" plasma for a tv though... only set me back 25k lol...

oh lol.. it's 2 am here and i only got home from work at 1 ish, in part 'cause we were having a bit of a wolfensteinerama

re: crt's yeah except for the extra radiation - got to say though i've worked for years on shitty 17 incher crt's... but several months ago i finally FINALLY.. bloody well got a sony 21".. and for fucks sake i don't know how i did without it.. you just don't realise how important monitors are until you use the good shit... i always used to get that % more cpu power over things like monitors and whatnot.. not anymore... especially as the monitor is the longest lived component of your pc..

at any rate rtcw rocks nads on it (of course the geforce 3 based elsa DCC helps )

what the fuck.. i don´t understand what i´m reading here,.. return of castle wolfenstein is the bigges shitz i´ve seen for long time.. you only run tru the castle and shoot nazis..... i tryed playing multiplayer and there were only nazi assholes shout fucking shit and all this scam..

i expected much more from this game

i've never played single player.. find some friends with a LAN and have some fucking fun... even 2 vs 2 is good... it's everything i expected.. pretty damn cool..

I use a 21 inch CRT and it great. I am thinking of upgrading to the sony 24inch model CRT. The only thing is its $1500ish and HUGE! on a desk. I may wait until the 21 inch plus LCD's come down in price.

If you are lokking for a cheap LCD Ecost.com has a good 18.1 inch for around $700. Sometimes its on sale for $650 too.

Wolfenstein rocks! I'm not even a big fan of games, but when you're trying to accomplish your objectives, playing on a server with 20 or 30 other people and the volume is turned up...that is just so intense.

It will get your heart pumping for sure...

Sure, buy an Iiyama 18.1' for only $1200. Never heard about radiation. Only read that they are better for your eyes.
