Need help with video

I have tried several different programs and formats but I can not find a good combination of settings to make things work well. In Windows Media I end up with a 65mb file for an 8 min video. The same video is 17.1mb in realplayer but I would prefer not to use .rm files. I have decided to use Studio DV 7 since it seems simple enough and does what I need. Any suggestions on what settings to use to get good results but a smaller file size?

I am new to this video shit so I am not sure exactly what you are looking for. I am capturing from miniDV through firewire and I beleive it is going to an avi file.

Why dont you try to encode it in Divx?

Your surfers will have to install a codec, but the majority of surfers have them installed now a days anyway.

It will make your file way smaller

Theres tons of encoding software & codecs to make your files smaller/better....

Theres fast motion divx, slow mo, & tons of other 3rd party shiot. Theres not just divx of course..in fact divx is becoming old technology.

You should be able to find anything you need from that site....if not...post again & i'll hit you up with some diff resources.
