    tweeking apache server settings..

hey does anybody know the maximum settings for an apache server.. i got these settings and it's locking about 75% of my traffic out and going to "page cannot be displayed"
.. these settings seem to only let about 20 - 25 clicks per second.. and then lock the rest out.. when i move them up more it doesn't seem to help.. are these the settings i should be changing.. if not.. what should i change?

    Maxclients 1250
    Startserver 40
    maxspareservers 175
    minspareservers 50
    keepalivetimeout 1
    maxkeepaliverequests 0

    timeout 10

With a default compilation of apache, the max you can go to is 256 simultaneous clients. Doesn't matter what you set that number to, it won't go any higher. If you want to go more than that, you need to make some modifications and recompile apache.

Don't have the info at hand right now, but do a web search and you should find some pages on how to do it.

Ah...sorry, can't help there. I've never used a windows server.

          - set the keepalivetimeout to 0
          - compile apache so it can handle 512 connections
          go sig yourself
