bandwidth question

I've never really had to pay for bandwidth (or hosting for that matter) because of the company I'm with, but I have started a couple side projects and am about to send some traffic to some galleries for them, and I have no idea how much BW I'll burn on the galleries.

So if I send 1.5 mil uniques to a gallery in a week (assuming they are all clickers who want to see it) that is of average size, probably slightly smaller because it is simple (but beautiful I assure you), how much should I burn? I know it'll be a ballpark, but I really suck at this stuff. Thanks .

1.5 mil uniques a weekX 4 (4 weeks in one month.. ppl think 5, but its 4) X size of page = bandwith formula.

Is that really accurate? Just because you get a unique to a gallery doesn't mean they are even going to look though the images, that's where I'm curious.

Here's a very vague formulate to use:
1) add up the basic sizes such as:
html document, size of recips, size of all the thumbs.
Times that by the amount of visitors.
That is your Minimum bandwidth.

2) add up all that again with the large pics as well.
This is your way way overkill bandwidth.

3) Add up the sizes of 3 pictures being clicked on, the html page viewed, all thumbs x # of unique visitors. This should be how much you prepay.

Hope that makes sense and is just a very rough estimate. It varies on how the surfers like your pics, how fast they load and their mood for the day.

You can never be completly sure - wait until after your first week/month of sending traffic and then you will know what your BW usage is! just make sure you have more BW available so don't get charged for overages
